The history of Hersham Baptist Church

About forty years ago a Sunday School was established in Hersham as an outreach from the Baptist Church in Walton - through the years being held in various locations. When it later moved to the Drill Hall in the Molesey Road, an adult group started up alongside the Sunday School to meet together as a Baptist Fellowship.

To provide greater flexibility for meetings and a more a appropriate home, alternative accommodation was sought and eventually, with the helpful co-operation of St. Peter's Church Hersham and the Diocese of Guildford, a church building was obtained at the corner of Arch Road. Hersham Baptist Church commenced meeting there in 1994 and continues to this day.
