Social Action

"Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon." (Isaiah 58:10)

We believe that as followers of Jesus we should show God's love by caring for the world and for the people around us.  That is why we support a number of local, national and international charities.

Courses

We ran our first CAP Money Course in November 2016.  It's a free 3 week course that teaches you budgeting skills and a simple, cash-based system that works. Whether you feel pretty organised or whether it's like a lucky dip every time you try to withdraw cash from your account, the CAP Money Course will help you take complete control of your finances.
We hope to run more courses in the near future so please e-mail Phil if you are interested in attended a course.

Social Action Projects

Our collection of waterproof winter shoes for refugees in Greece for the charity Carry the Future UK has now finished.  Thank you to everyone who donated children's shoes - we packed up and sent off 130 pairs this week!  A big thank you to Jo Jethwa who organised the collection.

Our collection of toys for families in Elmbridge who cannot afford to buy Christmas presents for their children has now finished.  We have been overwhlemed with donations of gifts and have had an opportunity to work with The Walton & Hersham Foodbank, Walton on Thames Charity and our local schools in getting the toys to those most in need.

Charities and Missionaries we support regularly

Every Autumn we collect supplies for the Walton and Hersham Foodbank as they seek to provide a minimum of three days emergency food and support to people experiencing crisis in the UK.  The collection takes place as part of our harvest service.  This years service is on Sunday 24th September.

Each year we make up shoeboxes of gifts for Operation Christmas Child - the project to send gifts to children who wouldn't otherwise get any presents through the charity Samaritans Purse.  Our shoeboxes for Christmas 2016 have now been sent off.  Thank you to everyone who controbuted.

As part of the Baptist Union of Great Britain we support Home Mission and BMS World Mission as they help churches and individuals to bring the love of God to communities far and wide.

We also support a number of missionaries working for overseas charities.  For more information on these please click on the links below.
